Life Events
The Church of England has a presence in every parish, and those who live in our villages are very welcome to come to church for those important events such as celebrating the birth of a new child, getting married, or saying farewell to loved ones.
Baptisms
We are delighted that you are thinking about having your child, or yourself, baptised (you can also say christened). The Akeman Benefice welcomes all who wish to be baptised into the Church of England, regardless of age. There is no fee, although a collection is taken at the end of the service.

Marrying in church is personal, meaningful and spiritual, just as you want it to be. Churches are special and unique places to get married in – the prayers, promises, and the whole service of celebration become part of your marriage, on the day itself and beyond.

Funerals
The Akeman Benefice is here to help you through one of life’s most difficult times. A Church of England funeral is available to everyone in the parish, giving support before, during, and after the service, for as long as it is needed.
